Systems Group

How the Systems Group sets priorities

Factors influencing priorities:

  1. Funding. Is funding available for the activity?
  2. Purchasing, phone bills, timestrips, Systems Group tools and scheduling are infrastructure.
  3. Slam-dunk. People expect easy things to be taken care of quickly.
  4. "Standard ICESS Computing Environment (ICE)" vs. something else. Standard stuff gets priority.
  5. Age. Stuff less than 3 years old gets priority.
  6. Involves an outside consultant or other UC recharge employee performing computing support or people doing their own computing support. People trying to provide help get priority.
